SteadyMama User Guide
Getting Started
First Launch
When you first open SteadyMama, you'll see the Today View displaying today's date and four glucose reading slots. Simply tap any slot to add your glucose reading or tap the food diary section to log meals and snacks.
Recording a Glucose Reading
- Tap one of the four reading slots (Fasting, Breakfast, Lunch, or Dinner)
- Enter your glucose value in mg/dL
- Tap Save
- The reading will be color-coded: green for in-range, red for out-of-range
Logging Food
- Tap the + button in the Food Diary section
- Select meal type (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, or Snack)
- Enter what you ate
- Optionally add notes about portion sizes or how you felt
- Tap Save
Using the App
Today View
The Today View is your main screen. Here you can:
- See all four daily glucose reading slots at a glance
- View instant color-coded feedback (green = in target, red = needs attention)
- Review your complete food diary for the day
- Add or edit readings and food entries
History View
Review your past tracking data:
- Scroll through a calendar to select any previous day
- View glucose readings and food entries for that day
- Identify patterns in your glucose levels
- See which foods might be affecting your readings
Charts View (Premium)
Unlock premium features to access interactive charts:
- View glucose trends over time with line graphs
- See patterns across weeks or months
- Identify which reading times are most challenging
- Track your progress toward better glucose control
Export View
Share your data with your healthcare provider:
- Choose your date range (last 7 days, 14 days, 30 days, or custom)
- Select export format: Text, CSV, or PDF
- Tap Export and share via email, messages, or save to files
- All exports include both glucose readings and food entries
Settings
Customize your experience:
- Set your target glucose ranges (consult your healthcare provider)
- Configure reminder notifications for testing times
- Adjust units and display preferences
- Manage premium subscription
Tips & Best Practices
- Consistency: Log readings at the same times each day for the most useful data
- Food Details: Include portion sizes in food notes to help identify patterns
- Export Regularly: Export your data before doctor appointments so you have it ready to share
- Set Reminders: Use the built-in reminder feature so you never miss a reading
Understanding Your Data
Target Ranges
The app uses standard GDM target ranges by default:
- Fasting: Below 95 mg/dL
- 1 hour after meals: Below 140 mg/dL
- 2 hours after meals: Below 120 mg/dL
Always consult with your healthcare provider about your specific target ranges, which may differ.
Color Coding
- Green: Your reading is within your target range
- Red: Your reading is above your target range and may need attention
